Film Acting: Developing an Inner Monologue
Casting Director and author of Secrets from the Casting Couch, Nancy Bishop, CSA, comes to London to teach a special master class in film technique for Actors Themselves.
Course Contents: The Inner Monologue. The camera photographs thought. While in theatre, the performer projects to the stalls, on screen the camera comes to the actor. In this master class, actors will participate in a series of exercises that develop screen presence. Actors will learn to feel comfortable in front of the camera, while fostering a varied and active inner life for an onscreen character. All participants in the class will receive a signed copy of Secrets from the Casting Couch, as part of the course.
About the book: Why is it that so many good actors don't perform well at castings? Secrets from the Casting Couch gives practical advice for actors, written from a casting director's point of view, teaching the craft of film casting in front of camera. It shows how actors can work with today's internet technologies to get cast and features advice and actual exercises that achieve results in the casting studio. The author has developed a successful approach through many years experience of working in the casting studio.
About Nancy Bishop: Emmy-award nominated Casting Director, Nancy Bishop, C.S.A, has cast supporting talent on over sixty projects from her home in Prague. Her credits include major studio pictures such as Wanted (Universal), Alien Vs. Predator (Fox), Hellboy (Revolution), and Prince Caspian (Disney), as well as TV series such as The Philanthropist (NBC), Charles II (BBC), and Anne Frank (ABC). She has worked for such major directors as Roman Polanski, and Joel Schumacher, and legendary producers such as George Lucas, and Jackie Chan. The author teaches her proven film acting technique at master classes through out Europe and the US. THEATRE AUDITIONS IN PRAGUE
The show will be directed by Jim High and produced by BL&R (who brought you Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) and will run over mid-Feb and again over mid-March for a total of at least 6 performances.
We are currently looking for one female for our updated version of The Proposal, set in 1990's Moscow, in the office of a wealthy nouveau riche 'business' man:
Natalya Stepanonva, the daughter and secretary, 18 - late 20's. An alternatively charmingly sweet and savagely fiery 'princess'.

PRAGUE PLAYHOUSE AUDITION
Prague Playhouse will be having auditions for True West, the dark comedy by Sam Sheppard, this coming Tuesday, November 10th, from 6-9pm at the Prague Film School, Pstrossova 15, Prague 1 (kind of across the street from the Globe Bookstore). We are asking for a 2 minute monologue for the audition.
The show will start rehearsals now and be performed at the end of January. Jeff Beck will direct the show. Actors will be paid 300 Kc per performance. We are planning 6-10 performances.
We are looking for the following roles (ages are approximate):
Austin - late twenties/early thirties - screenwriter
Lee - His older brother - late thirties/early forties
Saul Kimmer - Hollywood producer
Mom - mother of the boys.
